The Venue at Park Hall is a multi-purpose complex in Oswestry that offers a range of entertainment facilities including bowling, functions, football and a bar and catering.

Due to a recent management restructure we are building a new team and currently have a number of full and part-time vacancies for enthusiastic and ambitious people to join our fantastic and friendly front of house team. 

The ideal candidates will need to be driven and flexible with a good understanding of the leisure and hospitality industry. 

Job Vacancy: Duty Manager

We have a vacancy for a Duty Manager.  The ideal candidate will need to be driven and flexible with a good understanding of the leisure and hospitality industry. 

Salary: Dependent on experience 

Key responsibilities and tasks: 

  • Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the business  
  • Self-motivated with a can-do attitude and the drive to constantly improve the business offering and increase sales 
  • Be confident in handling customer enquiries 
  • Responsible for food and beverage stock control  
  • Responsible for cash management and control 

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • Excellent customer communication skills 
  • Computer literate   
  • At least three month’s appropriate experience in the hospitality or leisure industry, although full training will be given to the correct candidate 
  • Managerial and marketing experience would be preferred 
  • Have a strong awareness of Health & Safety regulations 
  • Be a good team leader and willing to learn 
  • Be able to follow processes and procedures 
  • Be able to prioritise workload and work under pressure in a busy environment 
  • Excellent time management skills

Job Vacancy: Kitchen Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking person, to add to our fantastic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will need to be flexible, determined and have a good understanding of the catering and hospitality industry. 

 Salary: Negotiable, plus company benefits. 

 Hours: Part-Time, zerohour contract. Should expect 16-20 hours per week depending on the business needs. Evenings and weekends will make up most shifts with holiday cover and school holidays presenting even more opportunities for work. 

 Key responsibilities and tasks: 

  • To prepare, cook and serve food delegated as your responsibility, ensuring that the highest possible quality is maintained and that agreed standards for food preparation and presentation are met at all times, under the guidance of the kitchen team 
  • To keep high standards of personal hygiene, clean uniform and overall camaraderie 
  • Maintaining a detailed knowledge of the full menu and be able to explain dish descriptions 
  • To carry out daily and weekly procedures, including temperature checks, food labelling/dating and storage 
  • Assisting with the cleaning schedule and ensuring cleaning tasks are completed to the highest standards 
  • Ensure that stock is rotated and controlled within your specific section of the kitchen. 

 The ideal candidate will have: 

  • At least 3 month’s appropriate experience and relevant qualifications pertaining to the safe delivery of Food & Hygiene/ Catering Services. Although full training can be given to the correct candidate 
  • Have a strong awareness of Health & Safety 
  • Be a team player and willing to learn 
  • Able to prioritise your work load and be able to work under pressure 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Excellent time management

Job Vacancy: General Assistants

 Salary: Dependent on experience 

 Key responsibilities and tasks: 

  • Servingcustomers on various stations including our eatery/soft-play, sports bar and ten-pin bowling areas, as well as waiting-on and serving in the function room during our many private functions and events 
  • General understanding of our fitness suite
  • Ensuring the upkeep of high standards of personal hygiene and adhering to Health & Safety regulations 
  • To carry out daily and weekly procedures, including assisting with opening and closing of The Venue facilities  
  • Assisting with cleaning and ensuring tasks are completed to the highest standards
  • Ensure that stock is rotated and controlled
  • Assisting with any other duties that may be required on a day-to-day basis

The ideal candidate will have:

Job Vacancy: Cleaner 

The successful candidate will be an experienced cleaner, reliable and punctual and be available to start immediately.

Working hours will be from 7am – 11.15am daily (8-10 hours per week) Monday – Friday.
